The Texas Workforce Commission recently partnered with Texas.gov to launch the new Texas Wide Open for Veterans website. The new site is a helpful resource that illustrates why Texas is a great home for veterans and businesses that employ veterans.
Veterans will find
- Maps of Texas military bases, airports, universities, community colleges, VA hospitals, parks, and job centers
- Contact forms to ask questions about options and opportunities in Texas
- A calendar of upcoming veteran events from community organizations, government agencies, and others
- Additional resources, including streamed social media content, that show why Texas is a great place to work, play, and live
Texas employers can also use Texas Wide Open for Veterans to find information about the critical skillsets veterans bring into the workforce. They can also learn about tax incentives that Texas offers to businesses that hire those who have served in the military.
Texas.gov is a collaborative public/private partnership managed by the Department of Information Resources (DIR). Texas.gov helps state and local government entities web-enable their services and operates without tax funds through a partnership between the State and Texas NICUSA, LLC.
