​As a statewide leader in information resources security, DIR provides education and support to statewide agencies, institutions of higher education, and local governments through a variety of methods.

End-User Security Awareness Training

End-user training, is a program designed to educate end users throughout any organization about security awareness and compliance. This is a resource that bolsters Texas public sector information security awareness programs. The series consists of approximately 40 videos covering topics including "Protecting Your Personal PC," "Social Engineering," "Federal Tax Information" and more. InfoSec Academy

The InfoSec Academy is designed to provide continuing education for state Chief Information Security Officers and Information Security Officers. The courses offered will prepare security professionals working for the state of Texas for various industry certifications.

Information Security Forum

The Information Security Forum (ISF) is a free educational conference aimed at public sector Information Security Officers, Information Resources Managers and IT staff throughout the State of Texas. The conference is hosted by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and managed by the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO).

Webinars and Tools

Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Governor Greg Abbott proclaimed October 2015 Cyber Security Awareness Month. The State of Texas has joined with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its partners across the country to highlight the importance of cybersecurity and online safety.
