Collaboration is a critical element to protecting information. Through various mediums of information sharing and collaboration, DIR works to keep customers aware of risks, trends and solutions in information security.
The Texas Cybersecurity Council was created to develop enduring partnerships between private
industry and public sector organizations to ensure that critical infrastructure
and sensitive information are protected, develop a cybersecurity workforce and develop strategies and solutions that
ensure Texas continues to lead in the
area of cybersecurity at a national level.
Comprised of security officers from state agencies and representatives from local government and private industry, the Statewide Information Security Advisory Committee (SISAC) provides guidance to DIR's statewide security program.
Information Security Working Group
DIR publishes a monthly, online newsletter on timely security topics to keep our customers informed and aware of risks and trends in information security as well as updates in the Office of the Chief Information Security Office.
Information is also shared with statewide IT personnel is through Security Email Distribution Lists. All requests to join these lists must come from state agency-designated Information Resource Managers (IRMs) or Information Security Officers (ISOs).
The Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) Coordination Platform, provides secure, real-time collaboration tools for government organizations and private industry entities on issues related to security.
