DIR Announces Award of Two Next Generation Data Center Services Contracts

AUSTIN - Today, the Board of the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) awarded two new contracts as part of the Next-Generation Data Center Services (DCS) suite of information technology products and services.

"The award of these two contracts is a critical step forward as DIR continues to seek innovative solutions for the shared technology services that further empower Texas government to provide the people of Texas with the responsive, efficient, and cost-effective services they deserve," said DIR Executive Director, Amanda Crawford. The two awards are:

 

SERVICE: DCS Public Cloud Manager Services

PROVIDER: Rackspace US, Inc.

CONTRACT: DIR-PCM-MSA-436

TERM: Commencement Date of Services September 1, 2020. Initial Term through August 31, 2024. Renewal Term of four (4) one-year Options through August 31, 2028.

OVERVIEW: The Public Cloud Manager will provide cloud computing operational support, technical and security assurances, and onboarding of public cloud services through Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Google.

 

 

SERVICE: DCS Mainframe Services

PROVIDER: Atos Governmental IT Outsourcing Services, LLC

CONTRACT: DIR-MF-MSA-439

TERM: Commencement Date of Services September 1, 2020. Initial Term through August 31, 2024. Renewal Term of four (4) one-year Options through August 31, 2028.

OVERVIEW: The Mainframe service provider will provide compute, storage, database management, and production operations for DIR's Shared Technology Services Program customers.

 

These two awards supplement the four contracts awarded in March that will support customers across the State of Texas with information technology as a service, through a Shared Technology Services program.
