​Written Certification for Purchasing through Local Government Purchasing Cooperatives

If an IT commodity is not available for purchase through a DIR contract, effective September 1, 2013, state agencies may request a written certification from DIR for the limited purpose of purchasing the commodity through a local government purchasing cooperative. TGC 2157.068 (f-1), (f-2)

This certification process may be used in place of the exemption request process.

Certification does not authorize a state agency to purchase directly from a vendor or waive other state purchasing requirements. It allows the agency to purchase through a contract developed by a local government purchasing cooperative under TGC 791.
