AUSTIN—The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) today welcomed hundreds of public sector security and information technology (IT) professionals at the Palmer Events Center in Austin for its annual Information Security Forum (ISF).

Now in its 26th year, ISF is a free, two-day conference that features various education tracks encompassing 35 breakout sessions, allowing attendees from Texas’ government and public institutions of higher education to curate their own learning experience. The sold-out event showcases an exhibit hall for attendees to explore and demo available security and IT solutions while connecting with each other and over a hundred technology vendors.

State of Texas Chief Information Officer and DIR Executive Director Amanda Crawford kicked off the event with opening remarks.

“Cybersecurity is a team sport. I want to thank each of you for the role you play in protecting and defending our state from malicious cyber actors. Together we are stronger.”

The in-person conference is usually held in spring with registration opening six weeks in advance of the event.
