DIR News
The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) was recognized for its workforce that is composed of 12 percent veterans.

The “We Hire Vets” employer recognition program was launched in July of 2017 to highlight Texas employers who are committed to hiring veterans. Through this program, employers whose workforce is composed of at least 10 percent military veterans receive a “We Hire Vets” employer recognition.

DIR was recognized for our workforce that is composed of 12 percent veterans. According to Texas Operation Welcome Home website, a collaboration among the Texas Workforce Commission, the Texas Veterans Commission, and Texas.gov, Texas is home to more than 400,000 employers, many of whom have experienced firsthand that veterans are hardworking, motivated and disciplined team members who will bolster an employer’s business. There are an estimated 800,000 veterans in the Texas labor force today.
