AUSTIN - Tere Shade, Business Solutions Manager for the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR), Shared Technology Services (STS) Program, has been awarded the State Technology Innovator Award by the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO).

The State Technology Innovator Award award recognizes outstanding individual contributions to advance state technology through promotion of best practices, adoption of new technologies, and advancements in service delivery. Tere received the award at the 2019 NASCIO annual conference on October 15, 2019.

For the past five years at DIR, Tere has designed cloud and security technology services for Texas customers. Tere also has ten years' experience as Finance Director with a large Fortune 500 government technology services company. Tere received both her Bachelor and Master of Business Administration from Excelsior College of Albany, NY.

The STS Program enables governmental organizations to access managed IT as a service, allowing customers to focus resources on supporting their mission and business functions. The STS Program is a "best of breed" technology services model, utilizing a Multi-sourcing Service Integrator to provide cohesive service delivery. This approach increases service quality through a plug-and-play model driven by robust processes, security assurances, and tools while reducing statewide costs for shared technology services.

Congratulations to Tere Shade on receiving the 2019 NASCIO Technology Innovator Award.
