Todd Kimbriel, State of Texas Chief Information Officer and DIR Deputy Executive Director, Retires

The Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) today announces the retirement from state service of Todd Kimbriel, State of Texas Chief Information Officer and DIR Deputy Executive Director.

Mr. Kimbriel has served in various roles at DIR since 2008, from which he has driven strategic initiatives that have reduced technical debt in the state, improved agency access to emerging technologies, and innovated business processes for DIR. He has been an outspoken champion in Texas and throughout the nation for innovating the way government services are delivered to citizens.

Amanda Crawford, DIR Executive Director, said, "Todd has been an invaluable member of the DIR team.  His steady hand, innovative solutions, and endless drive have had an immeasurable impact on technology in Texas government." 

"It has been my honor and privilege to have been part of the DIR team in serving our customers and Texas. DIR is truly a family that I will miss dearly as I enjoy this next chapter in my life," said Kimbriel.

DIR's Chief Technology Officer, John Hoffman, will serve as the Interim State Chief Information Officer.  Additionally, Texas' statewide positions of Chief Data Officer, Ed Kelly, and Chief Information Security Officer, Nancy Rainosek, will now report directly to DIR's Executive Director, Amanda Crawford.
