Agency Strategic Plan

On this page:

The Agency Strategic Plan is the formal document that communicates the agency's goals and action plans to external audiences, including the Governor, the Legislature, and the public.

As part of the strategic planning process, agencies should examine technology solutions that advance the mission of the agency and align with statewide technology principles.

Every even year, as part of the budget process, each state agency must produce an Agency Strategic Plan according to Texas Government Code, Chapter 2056.

You can view DIR's Agency Strategic Plan for 2023-2027 here.

DIR encourages agencies to integrate priority technology projects and initiatives in your agency's operational goals and action plans. As directed by the Agency Strategic Plan instructions, this should not be an additional report, schedule or section of the strategic plan. When incorporating information technology planning into your agency's operational goals, consider including technology initiative descriptions, anticipated benefits, and alignment with the State Strategic Plan for Information Resources.
