Texas Data Privacy and Security Act Public Portal
In 2023, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 4, enacting the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (“the Act”). Effective July 1, 2024, the Act regulates the collection, use, processing, and treatment of consumers’ personal data by certain business entities. This bill requires DIR to create an online portal for members of the public to provide feedback and recommend changes to the Act.
