Contract Overview

International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) have been awarded to provide Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Cloud Services Contract. IaaS covers the capability to provide provision processing, storage, networks, and other fundamental computing resources where the consumer can deploy and run arbitrary software, which can include operating systems and applications. The consumer does not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure but has control over the operating systems, storage, deployed applications, and possibly limited control of select networking components (e.g., host firewalls). The IBM SoftLayer cloud provides infrastructure as a service from a growing number of data centers and network points of presence. IBM Products and services include bare metal and virtual servers, networking, security and turnkey big data solutions, Storage options include NAS, SAN, Object, and Content Data Network (CDN). Storage is available as standalone or secondary storage for a server, as an out-of-the-box storage solution. IBM Contract Customers can purchase directly through this DIR contract. Contract may be used by state and local government, public education, other public entities in Texas, as well as public entities outside the state. Resellers are not available for this contract.
